Bio
Hello! My name is Jason (JH) Phrydas, and I am a poet, novelist, and ghostwriter. I received a BA in English Lit & Critical Theory from UC Berkeley and an MFA in Creative Writing from Naropa University. I have published numerous essays on and offline. My full-length books include Levitations (Timeless, Infinite Light, 2015), Empire in Shade (Essay Press, 2017), and Imperial Physique (Punctum Books, 2019).
Over the past decade, I have worked as a teacher, copywriter, managing editor, and content producer for universities, poetry magazines, startups, and nonprofits. My interests lie in interview-based research, origin story curation for artists and brands, and long-form storytelling. In 2021, I started ghostwriting memoirs for private clients. Most recently, I have concluded a biography of a San Francisco-based underground artist and a memoir of a Dallas-based businessman. I live in Echo Park, Los Angeles and am currently for hire.
